We are calling for your kind assistance to help us finish production on ”Francis’ Prayer”, a choral work by Lind & Jervidal, dedicated to world peace and the search for inner peace, as shared by so many people of differing religions and cultures around the world today.

Some months ago we invited singers from all over the world to participate in our virtual choir project, World Peace Choir. We were so pleased to receive individual videos of 150 singers from 16 different countries. So in fact this is a unique choir whose members have never met, having contributed their voices entirely through the internet.
Now remains the complex task of synchronising the many voices and blending them delicately into a final choir. All vocalists will be featured and presented in a stunning video, produced by leading video artists in Denmark.
The main team behind this project consists of volunteers, whereas the professional sound and video crews need to be paid for their hard work. That is why we need your valuable support so that the final video will be as beautiful as we have imagined it, and as impressive as each individual singer deserves. Every single dollar counts, and of course you will have your names shown in the credits at the end of the video. As well as exposure on YouTube, we intend to feature the video at major choral festivals in Europe.
To give you a rough idea, the above video is a demo showing only a small number of the participating vocalists. The end product will be nearly 4 minutes long, and will feature the voices and faces of all 150 singers.
The deadline for your kind donation is 15 June 2014.
The inspiration to start World Peace Choir comes from the teachings of Saint Francis and also from his birthplace, the medieval Italian city of Assisi. Since the famous inter-religious meeting there in 1986 between the Pope, Desmond Tutu, the Dalai Lama, Mother Theresa, and other religious leaders, the city has been known as The City Of Peace.

We wish to thank all you wonderful singers worldwide for participating in our World Peace Choir. We are currently working with the editing of your videos, and in some months the final video will appear on YouTube.
If, for some reason, you have been delayed in submitting your video before our deadline, we will still accept late-comers during the next week or so.
We launched our online choir project on September 21, 2013, World Peace Day, using music and song as great tools for raising awareness of the current urgent need for world peace. Assisi in Italy was named City Of Peace after the historical inter-religious meeting there in 1986. Therefore Francis' Prayer is an obvious choice for a worldwide peace choir.
Medieval friar Francis of Assisi taught his followers that, in order to live in peace and harmony with the world around them, they needed to establish an inner peace in their own hearts first.
In his own words:
"While you are proclaiming peace with your lips, be careful to have it even more fully in your heart." Francis used music and song to gain people's attention before proclaiming his message. We will now follow his example with our virtual choir, trusting that inside all of us there is a song of peace waiting to be sung. And that song of peace is a true universal message. Remember the Christian references in this song can symbolise many different meanings to many different people of many different religions or beliefs. Sing from your heart!
